Assistant Professor
Maastricht University, Work and Social Psychology department
Hi there! I am happy you found your way here.
I am Nino Gugushvili, an Assistant Professor at Maastricht University, where I work in the Work and Social Psychology department within the Faculty of Psychology and Neuroscience.
My research explores the intersection of psychology, technology, and communication within the field of human-AI interaction (HAII). I focus on understanding how advancements in artificial intelligence, such as conversational agents (e.g., ChatGPT) and AI-enabled recommender systems (e.g., TikTok algorithms), influence both broader societal outcomes like the spread of misinformation and political polarization, and individual well-being in the digital realm. A key aspect of my work also involves mitigating AI-related risks while advancing its beneficial impacts. for example by examining how AI literacy can empower users to engage with these technologies responsibly.
